Here is a very nice ammonite from an interesting location. This is a large Eubranoceras sp. from the Cretaceous of Peru. The fossil has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. This 3-dimensional cephalopod exhibits extremely strong ribbing and three rows of nodes on the keel. The inner whorls of the ammonite are nicely displayed on both sides of the specimen. This is a very well preserved example of this ammonite from Peru.
