This specimen was obtained from the Jay Wollin Collection. This unidentified seed fern is preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion are present. This is one of the most colorful and highly detailed fossil seed ferns that we have ever seen. The red color is highly unusual. The fossil exhibits very high relief. The venation is wonderful. This is a fantastic specimen of this unusual seed fern from the Pennsylvanian of Illinois.
