This is a RARE fossil inclusion in amber. It is a mass of mammal hair in Baltic Amber. It is extremely rare to find traces of animals other than insects trapped in amber. This is a ''lock'' of hair, not just a few individual hairs. In the future, DNA could possibly be extracted from these 40+ million year old hairs (remember Jurassic Park?). This is one of the most collectible amber fossils we have ever had (large close-up photo is included for free).
