This is a very nice specimen of two fossilized shrimp. They are Carpopenaeus callirostris from the sublithographic limestone layers of Lebanon. This specimen was recently acquired from the Richard Busch Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. Due to political unrest, specimens from this location are increasingly difficult to obtain. Both fossil shrimp are easily seen and have very good color and contrast. The form and detail of the shrimp are also very distinct. The extinct arthropods are nicely showcased on the semi-squared plate of limestone. This is an uncommon multiple plate of fossil shrimp acquired from the famous Busch Collection.
