Nice Pair of Cryptoblastus Blastoids from Missouri
Stock Number  XIBL705
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Cryptoblastus melo
Age:  Mississippian
Formation:  Burlington Formation
Location:  Ralls County, Missouri
Size:  Plate is almost 3 inches across

Here is a very nice pair of echinoderms from the Mississippian of Missouri. The slab has two very nice Cryptoblastus melo blastoids preserved. These 3-dimensional blastoids show the thin ambulacra quite nicely. The radial-deltoid sutures are easily seen. The fossils have very nice detail preserved. The whitish-colored fossisl contrasts wonderfully with the orangish matrix that also contains other fossil fragments. This is a very distinct double specimen of classic echinoderms from the Burlington Formation.
