Name:
Ursus speleaus Jaw
Age: Pleistocene
Formation: Cave Deposits
Location: Carpath Mountains, Romania
Size: Jaw is 2.8 inches tall
This is a very nice cave bear jaw from the Pleistocene of Romania. Cave bear material is becoming harder to obtain as the cave deposits have been heavily collected. An excellent tooth is retained in the jawbone. The molar has excellent enamel and exhibits hardly any wear. The jawbone is also in wonderful condition. This is a very fine display specimen of a cave bear jaw with excellent detail.
