This is a very uncommon specimen of Arachnopleurus reticulatus from the Eocene of Spain. This distinct sea urchin displays beautifully free of matrix - the back side is also well preserved. The fossil is quite robust and exhibits extremely fine detail. The entire test is covered with small pustules, and the thin ambulacra are very easily seen. This is an excellent example of this rare echinoid from Europe.
