Beautiful Double Shrimp Plate from Lebanon
Stock Number  XISHL50
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Carpopenaeus callirostris
Age:  Middle Cretaceous
Formation:  Cenomanian Layers
Location:  Hajoula, Lebanon
Size:  Plate is 4.4 inches across

Here is a wonderful plate of fossil shrimp from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. There are two fine specimens of Carpopenaeus callirostris beautifully displayed on this slab. Due to political unrest, specimens from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. These shrimp are nicely preserved and exhibit great detail. The heads, segmented carapaces, tails, and legs of the arthropods are clearly defined (some darkening for contrast). The shrimp are well centered on the square plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a fabulous pair of fossil shrimp from the Cretaceous.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
