Outstanding Decapod from the Solnhofen Limestone
Stock Number  XILOB10
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Eryma modestiformis
Age:  Jurassic
Formation:  Malm zeta 2 (Solnhofen)
Location:  Eichstatt, Germany
Size:  Fossil is 1.85 inches long

This is an outstanding fossil crustacean. It is an excellent Eryma modestiformis from the Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. This wonderful specimen was recently obtained from an old collection. This specimen exhibits extraordinary detail. Both ''claws'' are intact and beautifully displayed. The sementation of the tail is very distinct, and the pustulose nature of the exoskeleton is clearly defined. There is NO ENHANCEMENT, whatsoever, to this remarkable fossil. The Eryma is almost perfectly centered on the squared plate of lithographic limestone. This is a fabulous example of Eryma from Solnhofen.
