Here is an outstanding fossil lobster! This is Cricoidoscelosus aethus from the Jurassic of China. This splendid crustacean exhibits incredible detail. The head, carapace, fan-shaped tail, claws, and legs are all easily seen. Even the segmented antennae are wonderfully preserved. The fossil has nice dark coloration that contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The lobster is beautifully displayed and extremely well positioned on the squared plate of shale. This is a fantastic specimen of this unusual lobster from China.
