Here is a very uncommon echinoid we acquired from an old collection. It is a distinct Laganum depressum from Hurghada, Egypt. This extremely detailed sea urchin has very nice form and exhibits good plate structure. This type of echinoid has very large ambulacra and very distinct symmetry. This is a fine specimen of this rare Pliocene urchin from the Middle East.
