This is a very nice example of a Lebanese lobster. This is an Unidentified Lobster from the Cretaceous of Hajoula, Lebanon. Due to political unrest, specimens from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. This arthropod is nicely preserved and exhibits fine detail. The head, segmented body, and tail of the lobster are clearly defined - even the long legs and antennae are quite evident. And the distinct mandibles are even preserved, which is unusual. The fossil is well centered on the oval plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a very attractive fossil arthropod from the Middle East.
