Here is an uncommon specimen of Ulmus sp. from an unusual location. This fossil elm leaf is from the Miocene of Germany. The leaf exhibits strong primary venation and weak secondary venation. The dark brown color of the fossil leaf contrasts wonderfully with the light tan matrix. The leaf is beautifully centered on the rectangular plate. This is a fine example of an uncommon fossil elm leaf from Germany.
