Extremely Unusual Conularia from Canada

Now here is an enigmatic fossil. This is Conularia sp. from the Ordovician of Canada. There is still a lot of debate on the classification of this animal. This specimen is inflated and exhibits fine detail. The crenulated ''ribs'' of the fossil are very well defined. The Conularid has very good natural color and contrast. The fossil is well composited on the plate of shale that also contains an Archaeocrinus calyx. This is a very good example of this unusual fossil.
