Here is a very large pair of Deltoblastus permicus (?) blastoids from the remote island of Timor. Blastoids first appeared in the fossil record during the Ordovician and became extinct at the end of the Permian. This is one of the last types in the long line of blastoid evolution. Permian blastoids are only found in a few places in the world and are highly collectible. These huge, loose blastoids are very robust and exhibit good detail. The wide ambulacra are nicely displayed, and the five-point symmetry is easily seen. This is a wonderful set of two very large Permian blastoids from an exotic location.
