Now here is an enigmatic fossil. This is a HUGE Conularia sp. from the Ordovician of Morocco. There is still a lot of debate on the classification of this animal. This specimen is very distinct and exhibits fine detail. The crenulated ''ribs'' of the fossil are very well defined (hard to see in photo, but are amazing under magnification!). The Conularid has very good natural color and displays well on the natural-edged plate of matrix that also contains brachiopods and trilobite parts. This is a large, collectible example of this extremely unusual fossil.
