Here is a very detailed insect preserved on a plate of shale. This rare fossil Cricket specimen is from the Green River Formation of Colorado. This insect has excellent detail preserved - the head, body, and legs of the cricket are easily seen. The fossil has very good natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a very distinct example of a rare cricket from the Green River Shale of Colorado.
