This is a gorgeous trilobite. It is a beautiful Metacanthina issoumourensis from the Devonian of Morocco. This distinct trilobite has been meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. The 3-dimensional bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits outstanding detail! The individual lenses of the large, crescent-shaped, compound eyes are perfectly preserved and very easily seen. The pointed snout and occipital spine have been prepared in a free standing manner. The dark, chocolate-brown trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-brown matrix. The fossil is HUGE for this type and is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a top quality specimen of Metacanthina - one of the best we have ever prepared.
