Here is a fabulous plate of fossils from the Eocene of Colorado. There are at least a DOZEN insects on this slab. There are many different insects fossilized on the rock. Under magnification, the fossils exhibit terrific detail. There are large insects preserved at the top of the plate, and many nice small insects fossilized at the bottom! The insects contrast nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossils are well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a very fine slab with many different fossil insects from the Eocene age.
