This is a nice skull of Percrocuta sp., a Hyena, from the Miocene of China. The general shape of the skull is intact, and the bone structure is quite evident. The skull and jaws have been reattached together. There are still teeth in the skull and jaws. The teeth are nicely intact and have excellent enamel and beautiful coloration. They exhibit hardly any wear - the cusps of the robust teeth are clearly defined. This is a very affordable skull and lower jaws from a Miocene hyena.
