This is a rare ammonite from Morocco. This is Anetoceras sp. from the Devonian. This type of ammonite grows in a coiling pattern, but the coils are loose, not tight and touching each other. This unusual ammonite is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The coarse ribbing and the loose-coiling pattern of the cephalopod are wonderfully displayed. The fossil is well showcased on the large block of limestone. This is a collectible example of this strange ammonite from Africa.
