Here is a very nice specimen of an extremely unusual fossil. This is an excellent example of Plectodiscus, a fossil jellyfish. Jellyfish are very rare in the fossil record because of their delicate nature. This specimen exhibits great detail and nice color and contrast. The jellyfish is nicely centered on the plate of marlstone. This is the rare example of a fossil jellyfish from the Devonian.
