This is a nice multiple plate of Pentremites sp. from the Mississippian of Illinois. There are three specimens of at least two different species of Pentremites on this plate. One type has a very short pelvis, while the other kind has an elongated pelvis. The blastoids exhibit excellent detail - the plate structure is well defined, and the ambulacra are wonderfully preserved. The blastoids are extremely 3-dimensional and have great color and contrast. The fossils are nicely composited on the  plate of matrix that also includes a large horn coral. This is a very interesting assemblage of fossils from the Ridenhower Formation.
