Here is a very nice echinoderm from the Mississippian of Missouri. The slab has a very nice Cryptoblastus sayi blastoid preserved. This 3-dimensional blastoid shows the thin ambulacra quite nicely. The radial-deltoid sutures are easily seen. The fossil has very nice detail preserved. The whitish-colored fossil contrasts wonderfully with the orangish matrix that contains MANY other fossil fragments. This is a very distinct specimen of an uncommon echinoderm from the Burlington Formation.
