This is a very uncommon plate of brachiopods from an unusual location. These are unidentified brachiopods from the Mississippian of Iowa. The fossils are 3-dimensional and have excellent natural color. The distinct brachiopods exhibit extremely fine detail - the ribbing of the fossil lamp shells is easily seen. This is a very hard-to-find set of brachiopods from the Mississippian.
