This is a very rare plate of Florissant Insects acquired from the Famous Gerald Case Collection. Case wrote the classic book, "A Pictoral Guide to Fossils". Two of the insects on this plate are pictured in the book! The fossil plate actually has four fabulous winged insects (Plecia pealei) preserved, although only two are pictured in the book. The plate itself is over a foot long, which is also extremely unusual. This is a very collectible multiple plate of rare Florissant insects from the Case Collection. (Copy of the page from the book is included with the fossil.)
