Here is an unusual pair of fossil echinoderms. These are beautiful and rare Robulocidaris rebouli edrioasteroids from the Ordovician of Morocco. Edrioasteroids were primitive echinoderms which consisted of a flexible theca composed of numerous polygonal plates. These edrioasteroids have very good natural orange color and excellent contrast. The fossils have excellent detail preserved - the star-shaped ambulacra structure is very easily seen. The edrios are well showcased on the plate of sandstone that also contains trilobite parts. This is a textbook pair of unique fossil edrioasteroids from Morocco.
