Here is a very unusual multiple plate of rare edrioasteroids from the Ordovician of Canada. There are TEN specimens of Cryptogoleus chapmani on the slab. Edrioasteroids were primitive echinoderms which consisted of a flexible theca composed of numerous polygonal plates. These edrioasteroids exhibit fine detail - the outer rings of small plates are beautifully displayed, and the ambulacral plates are well defined. The cream-colored fossils contrast nicely with the dark grey matrix. The edrios are well presented on the large, natural slab of hard limestone. This is a very fine plate of these very uncommon echinoderms from Canada.
