This is a very cute fossil crab. It is an unidentified crab from the Cretaceous of Morocco. This crab was alive at the same time the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. This location is well-known for fossil fish, but crabs are quite uncommon. This specimen displays the long legs beautifully, and the detail of the crab is excellent. The fossil arthropod is wonderfully presented on the squared plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a very fine example of a rare fossil crab from Africa.
