This is a very well prepared trilobite. It is a very fine Hollardops mesocristata from the Devonian of Morocco. This large trilobite has been meticulously prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. The 3-dimensional bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits outstanding detail. The individual lenses of the large, crescent-shaped, compound eyes are easily seen. But the most striking feature of this trilobite is that the genal spines have been prepared fully free-standing! The fossil is beautifully showcased, in high relief, on the sculpted block of limestone. This is one of the most detailed specimens of a ''flying'' Hollardops mesocristata that we have ever done.
