Here is a very fine specimen of a rare cystoid. This is Glyptocystis robusta from the Ordovician of Morocco. This cystoid is extremely distinct for the type. The echinoderm exhibits incredible detail - the highly ornamented plates are beautifully articulated. The lengthy stem is still attached to the cystoid, which is unusual. The fossil has excellent color and contrast and is beautifully centered on the concretionary sandstone block that also contains a baby cystoid. This is one of the more detailed examples of this primitive cystoid we have seen.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
