Here is an interesting blastoid from the Devonian of Missouri. This is an undescribed species of Nucleocrinus from the Mineola Formation. The blastoid is very 3-dimensional. The elongated pentagonal blastoids are comprised of large, extremely thin plates. The ambulacra are very long and narrow. The blastoid is fully natural to the plate - no compositing or placement has taken place. The fossil has good color and contrast and is well positioned on the limestone block. The matrix block is loaded with other fossils. This is a very uncommon specimen of this primitive echinoderm from the Devonian.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
