Here is a spectacular pair of Marinoceras ammonites from the Jurassic of France. This type of ammonite has very faint ribbing and a sharp, notched keel. Both large specimens are very ''clean'' and well preserved. The coiling pattern of the mollusks is easily seen, and the inner whorls of the ammonites are clearly defined. These 3-dimensional fossils have excellent, greenish-brown color and contrast well with the matrix. The ancient cephalopods are wonderfully presented on the large block of matrix that has been sawed flat on the bottom for optimal display. This is an excellent double specimen of this beautiful display ammonite from France.
