Here is a beautiful echinoid we acquired in a fossil collection. It is a knobby Echinometra mathei urchin from the Solo River of Java, Indonesia. This extremely inflated sea urchin has very nice form and exhibits good plate structure - the detail is outstanding. This echinoid has wonderful orange coloration - quite striking! This is a very fine specimen of this distinct urchin from Java.
