This is a very rare fossil. It is a horseshoe crab, Euproops sp., from the Pennsylvanian of Missouri. The fossil exhibits very good detail - both the head and the body of this horseshoe crab are well preserved. The crab has been fossilized in a round siderite concretion - thousands of these concretions are broken open before one of these crabs is found. This is a very nice specimen of a primitive horsehoe crab from the Coal Age deposits of the ''Show Me State''. (Fossil is better than the photo shows.)

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
