This is a very rare fossil association. It is a complete Snout Beetle and Feather from the Green River Formation. Occasionally, complete insects, like beetles, were fossilized in the Green River Formation. This specimen is complete and has extremely fine detail preserved. The body and large snout are easily seen. There is also a very distinct bird feather fossilized next to the beetle - the feather also has great detail preserved. This is a very rare association of two different airborne animals from the Eocene.
