Here is a very interesting fossil from the Mississippian of Missouri. This is a very fine example of Evactinopora, a star-shaped bryozoan, from Missouri. The fossil is quite 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The points on the bryozoan are easily seen - the star is seven-pointed. The fossil has good color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the plate of maroon-colored limestone. This is a collectible example of this strange bryozoan from the Fern Glen Formation.
