This is a very cool fossil fish plate from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fish on the left is an excellent specimen of Diplomystus dentatus. The complete fish on the top is a very nice specimen of Knightia eocaena. The Knightia is laying on top of a nice, large Diplomystus dentatus. Both fish exhibit wonderful detail. The bone structures and fins are nicely displayed. The fossils have great color and contrast nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The fish are well showcased on the large, semi-squared plate of shale. This is an excellent specimen of two different fish on one plate from the Green River Formation.
