This is a rare Permian plant fossil. It is a Lebacia piniformis branch from New Mexico. Lebacia is a fossil conifer, cypress-like plant found in Europe and North America. This specimen was acquired from an old collection. This pair of branches has great detail preserved and are well showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a very fine example of TWO unusual Lebacia piniformis conifer branches.
