This is an outstanding fossil association from the Mississippian of Indiana. There is a gorgeous starfish and other unusual fossils on the plate. The fossil on the left side of the plate is Onychaster flexilis. This large brittlestar is very inflated and has absolutely wonderful detail. The plate structure is superb and the long, winding arms even display the tube feet of the animal. On the right side of the plate is a crinoid stem with multiple cirri, a large brachiopod, and even a corkscrew bryozoan, Archemedes! The fossils have excellent color and contrast and are well spaced on the large plate of siltstone. This is a unique specimen of very different and rare fossils from Crawfordsville.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
