This is a rare Permian plant fossil. It is a fabulous Walchia branch from Germany. Walchia is a fossil conifer, cypress-like plant found in Europe and North America. This specimen was found in the classic Branchiosaurus beds of Germany. This large specimen has great detail preserved and is well showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a very fine example of an unusual Walchia conifer branch.
