This is an excellent example of a fruiting body from the Macginitiea wyomingensis (Sycamore) tree, Green River Formation of Utah. This ''Sycamore ball'' exhibits outstanding detail and has extraordinary, natural coloration. The dark brown fruit contrasts beautifully with the greyish-tan matrix. The fossil is well centered on the natural-edged plate of shale. This is a beautiful specimen of this unusual fruiting body from the Eocene.
