Here is a nice eurypterid fossil. It is a well preserved Eurypterus remipes from New York. This specimen is missing the tail section, but it is very detailed. Most of the fine walking arms are present, which is uncommon. Both paddles are intact and nicely displayed. The segmentation of the body is clearly defined. This "sea scorpion" has great contrast against the light-grey matrix. There are no cracks/breaks in the matrix plate, and there is no restoration to the specimen. This is a very detailed example of this collectible Merostomata fossil that just happens to be the state fossil of New York.
