Here is a fabulous example of an Allophylus flexifolia branch from the Green River Shale. These large leaves are complete and exhibit fine detail. The undulate margins are intact, and the distinct venation of the leaves is easily seen. The short, stout petioles are present and firmly attached to the branch. The fossil has great natural color and superb contrast. The branch is well showcased on the squared block of matrix. This is a wonderful specimen of an extremely detailed Allophylus branch from the Eocene of Colorado.
