This is a rare pair of juvenile fossil fish. The larger specimen is Diplomystus dentatus from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This fish is colorful and exhibits great detail. The bone structure of the fish is beautifully displayed, and the fins and tail are easily seen. The eye socket is clearly defined, and the upturned mouth adds a certain charm. The orange color of the fish contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix that also contains an unidentified baby fish to the left of the Diplo. This is a very unusual double juvenile fish plate from Wyoming.
