Here is a nice Devonian trilobite. This is Metacanthina issoumourensis from Morocco. This extremely 3-dimensional trilobite is wonderfully preserved and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, the long occipital spine is easily seen, and the pointed pygidial spines are all present. The large compound eyes are in good shape - most of the individual lenses of the eyes are still intact. The bug has outstanding natural color and contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a very affordable Metacanthina issoumourensis from Morocco.
