This is a very unusual fossil. It is a Knightia eocaena fish with large fish scale from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. Both the fish and scale are extremely detailed. The scale is from a fish that was easily well over a foot long! This is a very uncommon example of both a complete fossil fish and a fish scale preserved on the same plate - what a conversation piece!
