This is a cool Allosaurus fragilis tooth from the Jurassic of Utah. Allosaurus ("other lizard") was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs in the world before the Tyrannosaurids appeared some 50 million years later. This juvenile tooth has very good natural color and fine detail on the enamel. The tip of the tooth is fully intact with no wear, which is extremely unusual. The distinct tooth displays beautifully, perched atop the base of Jurassic Morrison Formation rock. This is an excellent example of a very displayable tooth from this classic meat-eating dinosaur.
