This is a fine specimen of a Lepidodendron branch from the Pennsylvanian of Poland. Lepidodendron trees were very important in the formation of coal in the mid-continent area. The diamond-shaped pattern of the bark is very distinct. Each ''diamond'' represents the point of attachment of a fallen leaf. This specimen is a great example of a branch. The color is natural, and the pattern is quite distinct. There is also a large branch on the back side of the plate. This is a very detailed specimen of Lepidodendron from Europe.
