Here is a very interesting association of fossil ferns from the famous Tonganoxie Sandstone of Kansas. This specimen was recently acquired from an old collection. The fossil was collected in the 1970s - we have heard that this site has been closed to collecting for a number of years. The specimen has very good color and contrast. The Pecopteris frond displays very fine detail, and the Neuropteris specimen also shows very distinct venation. This is a very collectible pair of different fossil ferns from a classic location.
